RIGOLO 2011-IIHM Inter College Student Fest

The 10th annual inter college student Fest presented by IIHM "RIGOLO 2011" at City Center, Saltlake, Kolkata on 13th January' 2011.

There was participation of different colleges across Kolkata. Some of the activities ranging from, Rangoli, Cooking, Cartooning, Choreography, Cocktail Competition, Eastern Solo, Western Solo and Fashion Show. 
IIHM were the winners in some of the competition like Rangoli, Cocktail competition, and most glamorous "Fashion Show ".

7^th Kolkata International Food & Drink Festival 2010

7^th International Food & Drink Festival held at the Nalban Boating Complex on 22^nd & 23^rd Dec’2010 . The event was inaugurated by the Honorable Minister of State for Tourism, Mr. Manab Mukherjee.

The theme of the Food & Drink Festival was ‘ Mediterranean . The costumes was ethnic wear, by one of the most flamboyant young designers of Kolkata. We had cuisine from France , Italy , Spain , Turkey , Lebanon .

7^th International Food & Drink Festival had exotic wine show. IIHM was the first to showcase wines .  The wines are from different countries. Some of the wines are Two Oceans  White & Red ( South Africa ), Fincael Retiro ( Argentina ) etc. The guest were bubble with excitement as they entered the complex. After the delicious welcome drink, the first eye catching arrangement was the bakery department , different types of breads was displayed.

The Fest was not only with Food & Drink. The fun zone attracted guest of all ages.  One of our major attraction was the Fashion show which organized and Performed by the students of IIHM. The guest around 1000 per day who  enter the world of Mediterranean magic

The International Institute of Hotel management celebrates its Annual Day on 25^th September, 2010 at Eastern Zonal Cultural Centre, Salt Lake. The World Tourism Day which fell on 27^th September, 2006 was the theme. Earlier in the day a quiz contest was organised at Aikatan, EZCC. It was aptly named ‘Brain Appetite’ and was conducted by quizmaster Krishnendu Banik. In the evening a gala cultural show was put up by the students and faculty members

The Food Fest was held on the 16^th of September ’11 organised by IIHM, Kolkata and Royal Calcutta Turf Club (RCTC) at the RCTC Compound. The event was a major success!

The authentic English Interiors of the hall, the lush green lawns of the race course and the thematic environment of PAN ASIAN CUISINE combined together to create an unforgettable experience for the guests. The mouth watering dishes served from the live counters and the buffet extracted a “WOW” from each and every guest.

On the auspicious occasion of India’s 59th Independence Day, Mr. Suborno Bose, Chief Mentor for International Institute of Hotel Management hoisted the Indian National Flag. Later the students visited “Cini Asha”, an NGO for the destitute children where a special entertainment programme was performed by them. After this, lunch was served to the children by them. This lunch had been prepared by the students too.

The International Institute of Hotel Management has tied up with "Habib", India's leading Hair and Beauty care salon chain owned by the famed Mr.Jawed Habib. The students are given grooming touches by the experts on hair-styling, face care, manicures etc. In the increasingly competitive scenario it always helps to present oneself in the best possible way.

The 18th Foundation Day was celebrated on the 15th of March, 2011 with the colours of Holi. It fell on the auspicious occasion of Holi and so the theme for the same was “celebration of festival of colours”. The entire venue was done up to resemble a village fair, where there were bangles’ stall, henna application stall, pan shop, batter fried morsels stall, colours stall, balloon man etc. The elaborate buffet reflected flavours from Rajasthan, Bengal, Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh. The invited dignitaries were given a traditional welcome and had a lot of fun enjoying these and the wonderful holi based songs belted out by the college band “Rocking Souls”, interspersed with the dance performances. Mr. Suborno Bose, Chief Mentor gave an inspiring speech to mark the event. The alumni along with the final year students cut a cake earlier in the day.
